Where have all the butterflies gone; or How This Blog Came About

I still haven't thought of anything brilliant to post. Actually, I'm just posting because it's such a novel thing to do. I wonder what happened to all the things I wanted to post before I even had a blog? They seem to have flown away like so many butterflies.

How This Blog Came About

Originally, I was opposed to the idea of getting a blog. I didn't feel that it was wrong, but I had read a few that shared way too much information, and I wrongly assumed that they were all like that. I don't think it's wise to spill your guts online. Since then, I have read many other blogs that are very worthwhile.

To make a long story short, I was praying about how I could be a light to my generation, and God gave me the idea of getting a blog. I was rather shocked, but I didn't discredit it--just set the idea on the back burner for about six months.

One of the reasons I had never seriously considered getting one is because I could never think of a good name. I woke up in the middle of one night because my pillow had fallen off the bed, and I was thinking about blogging. All of a sudden God said that I should get a blog and call it "Soli Deo Gloria," which means "for the glory of God" in Latin.

Eventually, I discussed the idea with my dad. He thought that a blog would be a good thing for me to have, but I didn't pursue it for about two weeks. I started taking English Comp 1 at LeTU, and found out that it was a homework assignment for class! So God really confirmed the timing to me, and I started this blog yesterday. I think I'm a few days ahead, but I didn't want to wait!

Maybe I'll post tomorrow. Since God wants me to blog, He'll have to tell me what to say. All I know is that the purpose of this blog is to glorify Him alone!

To quote a dear friend and fellow blogger,

Adios and adieu and all that.

Julia! Yay! I had hoped and figured it was only a matter of time. I'll be eager to read your posts when you get going. Hope the class is going well. I like the blueness of your blog...as in, the color :) It's very pretty. Love you!
