I do! =P I do it two ways.
In the summer, we like to make sun tea. We have one of those glass jars with the spigot at the bottom. We just fill it with water, put in 4 family-size tea bags and leave it on the deck for a few hours, until it's dark like tea. =)
If you want to make it quickly, boil water and pour two cups into a glass measuring cup. Put the 4 tea bags in there and let it steep. It will be really strong. Then pour it over a pitcher full of ice. It will melt most of the ice but end up cool and yummy. =)
Happy tea-drinkin'! =)
I just fill a pitcher about half way up with hot water and put 2-4 teabags in it. If you're going to sweeten it, do that at this point. I let it steep for a few minutes, then fill the rest up with cold water and ice. Then I put it in the fridge.
I found this wonderful blueberry tea the other day at the grocery store. It's Celestial Seasonings. We made iced tea with it, and it's fabulous! I sweetened it just a little with honey.
Good luck with your concert! I'm sorry we can't make it anymore. I'm sure it will be wonderful in the Belcher Center. :) Miss you sweetie!
Mmm, that blueberry tea is my #1 favorite in the winter. I sweeten it with honey too. I haven't made iced tea out of it in like 3 years! I think I'm going to do that today. =) Yummy!!
I like to sweeten my iced tea with stevia, but some people think it's icky. I don't like it in everything, but I love it in tea. =P
I noticed your link to freerice and I thought I would let you know of another great charity site which is AIDtoCHILDREN.com. It donates money to children in need through World Vision.
Check it out at http://www.aidtochildren.com
three ways to make tea with 2 family size tea bags.
1. fill a small pot with about 2 cups water. it doesn't have to be exact. boil it. place the 2 bags in you pitcher. pour boiling water over tea bags. let steep 5 minutes. add 1/2-3/4 cup sugar depending on your preference (i prefer 2/3 cup). add enough cool water to make 2 quarts ( i use a pitcher with a 2 quart mark)
2. fill a large pot with 2 quarts of water. place tea bags in water and bring to a boil. reduce heat and simmer for a 5-10 minutes. add sugar and pour into ice filled glass. (this is how patti would make her tea)
3. sun tea. but i've heard this doesn't last as long because of not boiling it or something, but i haven't googled it to confirm that tale.
i think each way results in a stronger or lighter tasting tea. so try all three and see which one you like the best.
