Back to music

Flute season is starting again! By this, I mean that youth symphony orchestra is beginning to rehearse for our winter concert, I'm taking lessons again, and I'm practicing every day, which is something I don't do in the summer. I am really excited this year!

Originally, I was worried about a very full school schedule and a few activities, and I thought I wanted to drop flute for a year. But I prayed about it, and God and I decided that I would just manage my time well enough to be able to practice every day. Since I've already played for half my life, I don't think it makes sense to quit now. Music is a big part of my life. Also, orchestra is a great mission field--there are a lot of young people who need to know the love of Christ.

The day after I decided to keep playing, I got a phone call from a lady asking if I would be willing to teach her daughter flute! The lady had called my flute teacher, and she wasn't taking any new students. She recommended that they call me! Teaching flute to young girls has been a dream and a goal for about four years, but I had no idea that I would start so soon. If I had dropped flute, I wouldn't be teaching now. God knew best! I am really excited about this opportunity. My first lesson is tomorrow.
