Confessions of a Sensational Sock Lover

Cassie says that should post about my socks, most definitely. The thought occurred to me that some of you might not know about me and socks, and I decided that it was finally time to enlighten you!

I love socks, especially ones with unusual patterns. Here's why:

1. I like exciting socks because they're unsophisticated. They are a lot of fun to wear.

2. I like exciting socks because they don't show when I wear pants, unless I decide to take off my shoes. Therefore, no one has to know that I'm wearing monkey socks with a semi-formal outfit. Except me. Socks are a secret joy.

3. Most of all, I like exciting socks because they make me smile. They add excitement to my day and they're a lot of fun too!


Unfortunately, unusual socks are rather difficult to find. Shockingly, society doesn't appreciate them! So my sock wardrobe is quite limited. If you happen to find a store that sells very unusual socks, please let me know!

Here is my current sock inventory, in order of unusuality:

1. Hot pink toe socks with monkeys and bananas. My favorite!

2. Red and pink fleece socks with a green poofy top. Cassie calls these my Dr. Seuss socks.

3. Black socks with pastel stripes. These are exciting because of their unbelievable softness-- perfect for a chilly day! Unfortunately, they shed black fuzz everywhere, especially between my toes. Of course, I wear them anyway.

4. Brown socks with cross-stitched elephants. I'm currently looking for more elephant socks.

5. Beige socks with green and blue zigzags. These are slightly more sophisticated than my monkey socks, but I still like them. The pattern makes my feet look tiny, like about a size three.


I think we should start a Society of Sensational Sock-Wearers. Due to the summer heat and the prevalence of flip-flops, this would only be a fall/winter event. If you're interested in joining the ranks, let me know!
